KEYNOTE SPEAKER - 2:15 – 2:55 p.m. Mr. Chris Koster, Missouri Attorney General
“Protecting the Rights of Missouri’s Senior Consumers ”

Chris Koster was sworn in as Missouri's 41st Attorney general on January 12, 2009. Since becoming AG, Koster has focused efforts on detecting and prosecuting Medicaid fraud, pursuing mortgage-relief and debt-settlement scams, cracking down on  fraudulent auto service contract businesses, using Missouri's legal authority to protect our water resources and educating public officials of their obligations under Missouri's Sunshine Law.

Prior to being elected Attorney General, Koster served in the Missouri Senate representing Cass, Johnson, Bates and Vernon counties. He previously served as Cass County Prosecuting Attorney for 10 years. No, Koster aggresively works to protect the rights of Missouri's senior consumers, and prosecutes those who prey on seniors, putting con artists behind bars.

Certified Financial Planner(R), Chad Terry, will answer questions for those who are confused about when to claim, and eligibility for benefits in his program, "Social Security Wins & Wins." He will uncover the truth from the myths surrounding Social Security in plain language. Mr. Terry has over 15 years of experience in financial services and retirement planning, and is currently with BlackRock(R) Investments.

AARP's new Home Fit initiative will be presented by an AARP volunteer who is a member of the  organization's Missouri Speakers Bureau, "Speak Out!" Home Fit provides a collection of home-related information and tips that can help you keep your home in top form for comfort, safety and livability. Home Fit was developed because AARP surveys have indicated that nearly 90 percent of people 45+ want to remain in their current home and community for as long as possible. Presentation attendees will receive a free AARP Home Fit Guide and oven rack stick.

Local attorney Jeffrey Easterday will discuss "The Biggest Estate Planning Mistakes People Make," a topic he has been sharing with groups and clients in the Kansas City area for over two decades as a partner in one of the Midwest's leading estate planning law firms, Parman & Easterday.
